On June 6th, I visited the Wake County Animal Center. This week, our goal was twenty one photographs. I photographed both cats and dogs. The dogs were extremely playful this week and getting their photographs was more challenging than in weeks past. I used all of the techniques and "tricks" that I have learned throughout the course to get their attention. I left the center and went to the Mac Lab and edited photos and managed to edit eleven. I decided I would finish the photos the next day and I am happy that I was able to edit all twenty one. I admit that editing twenty one photos was challenging; however, I now know that I am capable of editing twenty one. I hope you all enjoy looking through this weeks photographs!

I met Ally on June 6th. Ally is a very sweet and loving cat. Ally was curious to see just what my camera did. Every picture I took, Ally was very close to the camera. This cat has a great personality and a lot of love to offer someone.

I met Brownie on June 6th. When I walked past Brownie's kennel, I said, "What a beautiful dog!" Brownie could win over any heart. Brownie was also very interested in my camera and I was able to take several photographs of this sweet face. Brownie is truly a beautiful and loving dog!

I met Canelo on June 6th. Canelo is a sweet dog who posed for the camera many times. Whenever I said, "Canelo," this sweet face immediately looked in my direction. Canelo also knew how to sit. What a sweet dog!

I met Cooter June 6th! Cooter was going in and out of sleep and I jingled the key a few times in order to snap this photograph. Cooter was very sweet and appeared to enjoy having my attention. Cooter is very sweet and has a lot of love to offer.

I met Dori on June 6th! Dori has a face that I will never forget. Dori's unique markings and beautiful eyes make this face unforgettable. Dori was a playful and sweet dog. I cannot help but say, "Aww" when I look at the photographs I took of Dori.

I met Hop Scotch on June 6th! This dog also won my heart over immediately. Hop Scotch was very playful and loving. I thought this photograph captured the dog's personality well. Hop Scotch appears to be "smiling" for the camera!

Your images look great! Your editing skills have really improved since the beginning of this class. Great use of the dodging tool and levels tools! The images look so clear and great job of getting the animals to look directly at you!

DeleteTaz just knocks me off my feet! Look at that expression. Tank is pretty adorable too. Yes, your skills are developing beautifully. I also like the writing you do with the images. I forgot to mention that in the last post when you discussed different art forms that could be used. Writing is a great idea too, and goes hand in hand with the photography. You demonstrate that very well.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Johnstone, thank you so much for your encouraging words! I can tell a huge improvement in my photographs and in my confidence level. Taz and Tank appeared to enjoy our time together and did not mind the camera! I feel as though their expressions really show their personalities! The writing helps to describe my time with the animals and lets others see what these animals are like. I want my blog to serve members of the community as well and being able to read about the animal's personality is always helpful! Writing is very helpful and I appreciate your comment!
DeleteI took a picture of Gracie this week, and she was so cute and sweet. Again, These photos were great. You really seem to have a way of getting the animals attention (So the eyes are looking at you and the ears are perked up). Good work!
